Mouillac’s Twirlingstick team will be in the finals of the French N3 Championship next month. This is the fourth time this club has joined.

Martine De Baralle, president and trainer of the Souillac Stickswilling Club, is preparing for the exciting month of June, when the finals of the French N3 Championship will take place. But for lot clubs, it’s certainly the entire 2021-202 season that is full of medals and emotions.

For many years, Souillac’s Twirling Baton has provided licensees with the opportunity to participate in a competition section where they can present their choreography solo, duet or as a team within the framework of the French Championship.

This year, after months of regular and ongoing work, six girls from the senior team competed in the finals of the French Championships in Drome, Valence on June 18th and 19th. .. They will play against seven other teams selected at the national level.

To achieve this, they must go through the divisional championship stages at Tarn-et-Gallonne’s Nagle Peris, then Aveyron’s pre-selection at Cransac, the quarterfinals at Autoove, Autograonne, and finally the semifinals. Had to go through-final. ..

The Souillagais club’s N3 senior team, consisting of Elsa Cambonie, Savannah Thirion, Jade Sournac, Juliette Guinot, MaïlysLaborie and Jade De Baralle, finished second in the championship semifinals on May 21st and 22nd. The Souillac Club has already participated in the 2016, 2017 and 2018 Championship Finals. That year, the junior team won the title of Deputy Champion of France. In 2022, along with the senior team, the Suiyak Club reached the final of the fourth French Championship in history. Leaders are very proud to represent Souillac in the final of the 2022 French Championship.

A club founded almost 40 years ago

The club was founded in 1985 by Gisèle Chaumont. Initially, he belonged to the NBTA Federation (National Baton Twirling Association), joined the FFTB (French Baton Twirling Federation) in 2012, and obtained youth and sports certification issued by the Ministry of Youth Sports during this period. Since 2016, the number of licensees has continued to grow, and to date, 36 licensees between the ages of 5 and 18 are practicing. Despite the risk of staff loss in the event of a health crisis, the number of licensees is stable, proving that the field is rural, if necessary. The majority of club staff is part of the leisure department. It also benefits from weekly training sessions led by Martine De Baralle and backed by the best athletes in the competition section. All the kids did a great job, with the choreography announced at the end of the season at the club party at the Souillac Gymnasium from 8:30 pm on Saturday, July 2nd.
