Sport of the pass extended through 2022

This was an announcement made last June by the Elysee service, which will extend the “Pass’Sport” device to 2022.

A decree published in the Official Gazette on 4 August formalizes this extension but also determines the extended list of eligible persons, the structures entitled to the corresponding assistance and which they will benefit from. It defines the conditions under which data can be accessed and organizes access to that data. ‘Pass’Sport’ is a one-time €50 subsidy to reduce the amount of memberships or licenses offered by certain sports organizations and associations for the 2022-2023 season.

This aid is in the form of state reimbursements for the €50 reduction implemented by sports organizations and associations in the price of membership or licensing.

This aid can be mobilized until 31 December 2022. Sports organizations and associations have until 31 December 2022 to request a refund from the Ministry of Sports Service.

Please also note that ‘Pass’Sport’ benefits are personal and non-transferable. Cash refunds cannot occur. On behalf of the State, it is the service and payment institutions listed in Article L. 313-1 of the Rural and Marine Fisheries Act that ensure the administration and financial control of this system for repayment.

Who can benefit?

‘Pass’Sport’ benefits are available to those who meet one of the following conditions as of June 30, 2022:

The ‘Pass’Sport’ system can be mobilized for membership or licensure at the following sports associations or organizations until 31 December 2022:

  • Organizations affiliated with sports associations and federations recognized in accordance with Article L.131-8 of the Sports Code.
  • Article L. 121 of the same Code, not affiliated with a recognized federation, located in the urban policy priority districts referred to in the Decree of 30 December 2014 or supported under 2022 -4 by the Sports Association State “Education Cities” program approved by the application.

The eligibility of these organizations must be signed by September 30, 2022 in a pledge proposed by the Ministry of Sports.

However, this experiment only takes place in the Nord, Pas de Calais, Seine et Marne, Seine Saint Denis and Val de Marne departments.
Conditions are specified by order from the Minister responsible for sport. An evaluation report for this experiment will be submitted to the Minister for Sport by 31 March 2023 at the latest.
