Below the chic Presidential Lounge, the edge of the Central Court is booming. Rafael Nadal’s name, and other names, rotate on LED panels for test demonstrations. The new look of the tournament (May 22nd to June 5th). The thread is currently drawn by Amelie Mauresmo. After successful players (Australian Open and Wimbledon 2006), coaches of the men’s circuit, and captains of the French Open, the leader of Roland Garros comes here.

Do you still remember that you were the first woman in Roland Garros’s head?
As the tournament approaches, it will come back a bit. I understand symbolism and I am very proud of it, but I hope that what I have to contribute goes beyond that. And the impact remains much weaker than when I was coaching Andy Murray. [2014-2016].. There were violent comments and it was very difficult. As soon as he lost the match, it was my fault. However, we have worked well with great communication and we are still in regular contact. I’m glad he’s hanging and one of the Roland-Garros registered players.

Once appointed, you said you wanted to be the “power of proposals.” What was the main thing?
Immediately, I proposed to change the ceremony. Before the singles final, there is a small dance-oriented show. And the winner’s first speech will only be given if the trophy is at hand. Post-match court interviews have also been adjusted. The interviewer team has been strengthened.Cedric Pioline departs for the Rolex Paris Masters [directeur]Asked Mats Wilander and Alex Corretcha to join Marion [Bartoli] And Fabrics [Santoro].. To make the moment more dynamic, the translations are done directly on the screen at the same time. For the 10 night sessions, a DJ set precedes to “warm up” the general public.

Do you strive for parity during these sessions?
My behavior is sporty. Recently, as I said in a meeting with WTA, if there is a “product” that is a poster for women, I will propose it. But even before the lottery, it’s hard for me to say how these nights unfold. I also know that programming makes people unhappy.

Is it a real goal to sparse the boxes at lunch time?
It’s a big challenge, I’m not the first to tackle it. We are hoping to implement the Annex Up Ticket Principles and increase the number of participants if the bottom of the stand turns out to be low. Owners of these tickets will be notified via SMS, application, or a huge screen at the stadium. We also worked with our partners to raise awareness. Since they have two tickets in one place, guests will also be distributed in different slots and invested in this filling mission.

Did you get advice from your predecessor Guy Forget, who was nervous about the exit?
I talked for a long time just before saying yes. It wasn’t easy for humans. But we exchanged without resentment. It will take more time to question our friendship. But since then we haven’t talked about it again. It’s a good idea to set aside some time.

Were you in secret when Wimbledon decided to ban the presence of Russian and Belarusian players?
Yes, the organizers let us know before making it official. We paid attention, but it is true that this is not our position. Even though we regularly put this subject on the table in-house, we were all in line with a strict neutral policy for Russians and Belarusians. They may not be able to say, but I know they do not support the invasion of Ukraine. Still, I’m very cautious about what they can express, for example in the media. And if the player crosses the line, it’s not tolerant at all.

Are you afraid that general manager Amélie Oudéa-Castéra will suddenly become Minister of Sports?
Yes and no. I don’t think he’s interested because I can’t refuse. For her, that would be great. It wouldn’t be very good for us because she knows all the files from her heart. And timing issues, just before the tournament, it will be hot.
